Okay! For anyone who wants to run this themselves, here's the whole kit and kaboodle. Or if you want to see the full disclosure of your other characters. But if you do download it, here's something to think about: it took me a few hundred hours, it's over 25,000 words long and it can provide bedwettingly awesome fun for fifteen peole for almost three hours. And because it uses the Warhammer setting, I can't make any money from it. I can't even do a ransom or ask for a donation. But if people were to put some money in my Paypal account which is linked to my email of [email protected] for unrelated reasons, I would be awesomely okay with that.

Just a couple of things I remember from the playtest session, for those folk and other afficianados. Note we only had ten players.

Our Witch Hunter was much more thinky than blustery and interviewed everyone in turn, until he ended up carrying about five items. It was Miss Gen who gave the kiss to Klara (it's really cool that in both games the two ladies became good friends. That wasn't really written in there but it works because they have a lot in common - I love it when those things happen!) and Miss Gen was horrified to discover the new vampire was her enemy. She decided to leave her revenge to others and escaped with Bucket and the Ratcatcher. Bucket exposed Dunkelhaus' ratmen alliance, so he was strung up by Stalagmeit for treason.

Count Fredo tried to kill the Witch Hunter but got axed by the dwarf, in return for getting his dagger. But then Klara killed the Witch Hunter with her new vampire powers and grabbed the ring, then ran to join the vampire armies, screaming "I Am Invincible". Unfortunately it was the wrong ring, and she died. The real ring was with Rosalina, who had got it from Pendersen in exchange for getting him out of the city alive. She gave the ring back to Vlad and Altdorf was destroyed, and the vampire victory was complete. A terrible end for humanity, all because of a confusion over a ring...

So...Keller realised that Barthof had just given away his inheritance, but Count Fredo kindly handed it back to the Ulrican who gave it to Keller. In the changeover people worked out that Lady Dunkelhaus was about to be disinherited. And when her dwarfen bodyguard found out about her skaven ties, he cut off his support for her and began to help the Witch Hunter...in hope of getting his dagger back. Meanwhile the Witch Hunter was growing close to figuring out who the Harbinger was but after being turned down in his proposal of marriage to Lady Gen (he even went down on one knee, I heard tell!) he declined to pursue Miss Klara vigorously, feeling that, should his suspicion be wrong, she may be a decent substitute as a wife.

So, we move towards the end. Count Fredo gave the Dark Kiss to Miss Klara, only to discover she was the Harbinger as she slipped his ring off her finger. He I think tipped off Rosalina where it was but somehow Rosalina lost it to someone else who gave it to Gen. Astaran spotted Finkel trying to get Stalagmeit to sign his deed of sale (in return for helping Stalag escape and broke it up). Then the shrieking skulls began to fall.

In the panic, Grimgul decided his need to hide his crime tumped all and cut the Witchhunter in half with his axe and grabbed his dagger back. Then he ran out do die gloriously in battle. Barhof examined the corpse and found the warpstone, something he didn't understand. Lady Dunkelhaus, now desperate for her warpstone, grabbed the last item - a wedding certificate, unused by the poor departed Witch Hunter.

Count Fredo killed Rosalina, now aware she was working for Vlad and believing she had the ring. She did not, but Barthof now knew Fredo was a vampire. Barthof wolfed out and killed Fredo. Stalagmeit didn't finish his business with Finkel so while the Halfling ran, he went out with the Trollslayer and became the war hero he had always wanted to be. The Runesmith had made his fortune so, with the help of his fellow scammer Finkel, bribed the guards to escape. Surprisingly, Lord Bucket also had the cash to escape, but as to his eventual fate, nobody was sure.

Gen and Astaran cornered Klara in the cellar and Gen attacked. Klara revealed she had been turned by Count Fredo and fought back but Astaran stabbed her to death.  Astaran, fearing reparations and having proved a generally nice guy was helped escape by the Ratcatcher. Abadoned to her fate Lady Dunkelhaus realised Barthof had her stone so decided to marry him and get the escape and bodyguard she needed - and Barthof finally got his wish for a wife and sons!

As Astaran left he handed Gen the deed to her bar, so once again it remained in her hands. As did the item Klara had: the Carstein Ring. Without his precious ring, Vlad would die on the walls at morning and the undead armies would break - unless Gen decided she wanted Vlad to succeed. The fate of the Empire lay in her hands....and there our story ends - at least for now.

Once again, thank you all for making the game so awesome. I always say I like GMing more than playing because you get to see all the stories, not just the part you play in. Alas, in a LARP you don't even get to see all the stories! I missed some really wonderful moments because I couldn't be everywhere. Which means of course that this won't be complete and may be inaccurate so please use the comments to correct me or add stuff!

And also note this contains spoilers so don't read if you wanna play!

So. In our playtest, "Father Pendersen" (aka Felix Mann) was so scared of Kevin's dangerously scary Count Fredo he didn't reveal the location of the ring for the first hour, and then to Madame Rosalina, but at the con, Pendersen picked Fredo's pocket. Fredo realised he'd been pickpocketed and figured out Mann's disguise. They immediately allied, with Fredo promising Mann escape in exchange for the ring. However, Barthof then asked him if he had a ring with a black stone, and he said yes, and thus collected the Dunkelhaus inheritance. Now realising there were two rings, he asked the runesmith which was which, which tipped off the runesmith as to the identity of the vampires, knowledge he would eventually share with the witch hunter...

Meanwhile our cunning runesmith bribed the halfling to let him win the Piglet Tossing (genius!, and I totally didn't notice it when it happened, or expect the character to do that). Finkel was kept quite busy with the tossing so didn't have much fun conniving at the start - but did have time to cheat Barthof and rob the place blind. Miss Gen didn't have time to notice however because Miss Klara found a dagger in her drink. She put it there, of course, but was clever enough to make it look like such an obvious ploy that people didn't think it was a ploy. But it did throw Fuegelbrant and Rosalina into a frenzy. Rosalina and Klara worked each other over while Gen and Astaran compared notes. Fairly soon, Gen worked out Count Fredo was mostly on her side too and those three formed an alliance.

We've now cast Miss Genevieve, Lady Dunkelhaus, Herr Fuegelbrandt, Astaran Seamist, Crowbar Keller and Lord Bucket.  And I have a few maybes.  Costumes are sounding awesome!

Meanwhile, nobody has won a Poke the Steve prize just yet - but it was a slow day today!

Three Hours to Midnight was late to be confirmed and as a result its been double booked. As a result of that, it's been cancelled from the program and cut from the website.

But we're not going to let THAT stop us.  Find me at the end of my 5-6 Seminar (Writing for WFRP, in Seminar 1) on Friday night and we'll do this somewhere.  Maybe over dinner.  Maybe back at my place.  Whatever.  It'll happen.

This is from an ongoing LARP ala the Camarilla. Pictured is Amara the Undying, vampire lord (the bat-head guy), and his minions!

Another role has been taken. Remember people, if you are at all interested in playing the game, let me know in advance. I have character background and costume suggestions for you, ready to go. I will have a roster with me at the con and it's first come, first served. Another reason to Find the Steve, Poke the Steve.

And ANOTHER reason is I'll be carrying extraneous game swag - stuff from my cupboard I no longer want. Find the Steve and mention this and I will give you some thing from my bag o' fun!  Of course, you might not love it, but hey

Finally got my timetable sorted out in terms of both things I'm running/seminaring and what other fun I'll be doing. Generally lots of the former, less of the latter. But I live to give! Also, when I do things they let me in FOR FREE! :0

Alas, registration is now closed on the GenCon site. However, if you intend to come to my events, do drop me a line to let me know so I can look out for you (and in the case of Sunset Claws, send you background info!)
